Flaxton Community Club
The Flaxton Community Club was organized in 1972 during our city’s founding celebrations and has continued to be a force for good in building Flaxton City and Burke County community, preserving and restoring historical buildings, war memorials, cemeteries, building parks, supporting the Senior Citizens Center, aiding in disaster relief and preparedness, helping people gain access to clean drinking water, and working with local leaders to support them in community ameliorations. The majority of our community are the elders of a post-war era in one of the coldest and most remote locations in the lower 48. Many community members promote the preservation of historical sites, care for wildlife, and transport resources to our remote town that many in the cities take for granted. The club's deep passion for our community shines through in their tireless work to promote unity and prosperity. From sponsoring vibrant events to championing genealogy initiatives and preserving our rich history, they have extended their positive impact far beyond our town borders.
